X-Ray Films: Following the examination Dr. Chrissy will decide whether or not she needs to take pictures of your spine (x-rays). X-rays may not be necessary in all cases, and based on your exam results, Dr. Chrissy will decide whether or not the films will be necessary for you. If x-rays are not necessary and no other red flags show up during the examination Dr. Chrissy will then adjust you. This will conclude the visit for the first day. For those patients who had x-rays taken, the report of findings and adjustment will take place at the next visit, after Dr. Chrissy has had a chance to review them.

First Visit

Patient Paperwork: Once you have set up an appointment to come into our clinic as a new patient, our friendly staff will greet you and ask that you fill out any necessary paperwork. We ask that you show up ten to fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to do this. To speed up that process you can print the paperwork off of our website and fill it out ahead of time.

Consultation: Once the paperwork is completed, Dr. Chrissy will do a consultation with you. This will help her learn about any relevant history and health conditions you may have. The consultation will help Dr. Chrissy determine if chiropractic can meet your goals.
Examination: Following the consultaion Dr. Chrissy will perform a spinal screening. She will do this by using a special instrument called a Tytron, which uses temperature differences in your body to show where there is decreased nerve functioning and acute or chronic problems. She will then perform a short physical examination on you. The physical exam contains a series of orthopedic and neurological tests which help Dr. Chrissy determine how she would like to go about treating you. Exams include muscle strength tests, reflexes, vital signs and orthopedic tests.

Second Visit

Report of Findings: For those patients who had x-rays taken, the next visit is extremely important because after the doctor reviews the file she will go over it in detail with you and anyone else whom may wish to see the results. Many patients are excited about this because you can see exactly where the problems are in your spine..

Treatment: Once your questions have been satisfied the adjustments can begin. Dr. Chrissy practices a variety of techniques including diversified, gonstead, thompson and activator, as well as offering trigger point therapy to her patients.. These techniques are described in more detail in the services section of this website.
Several questions will be answered, and a wellness plan will be developed and discussed with the patient with the focus being to relive the underlying condition.
